He was trying, he really was! But it was so hard right now to focus on anything but his sister and his best friend. Hours after the hospital visit and a heartbreaking conversation with Captain Hayes, Daigo walked out of another meeting, mentally worn out. Regardless, as soon as she spoke with him, she was planning on talking to the Admiral to work on the arrangements to send out the injured man today or tomorrow at the latest. She felt that the people of Santore had been through enough and having their will take away from them with no warning might alienate them even more. It was merely a formality to do so, but she would feel better to have his agreement than to impose her will on him. She made a mental note to talk to Daigo about their plan. ![]() She might not have known Ryoma as long as Daigo, and she was not as close to him as he seemed to have wished that they were, but she considers him a friend and she hoped for a speedy recovery for him. Time was of the essence and he needed specialized help. A serious injury, like the one Ryoma had, needed to be treated in a place that could offer more than a temporary refuge.Īfter many discussions, and a conference with doctors from Macross, Jean had concluded that the only solution would be to airlift the man to New Macross city. The ravaged cities around it had been raided by the volunteers and anything useful had been brought to it, but nothing else had come in. It was seriously understaffed and had limited supplies. Santore was a peaceful base under siege, momentarily taken over by military personnel. She had conferred with Jean about the case last night and they had come to only one conclusion, this base was not equipped to handle a case like his. Lisa had no illusions about the state of the samurai spy. The samurai had yet to come to, and his recovery seemed like it would be a long and arduous process. As she spoke to Saori, she noticed Daigo leaving them in order to approach the nurses in charge of Ryoma’s care. Lisa approached the siblings to greet them. It was a hard blow to bear for the siblings, to lose a father not once, but twice. Otaki had sacrificed himself to stop the flow of information stolen by the spy. It has been heartbreaking to hear that Dr. Lisa’s heart broke for her, especially after receiving the latest report from the Scientific Team. Daigo was supporting his sister, who seemed to have withered in the past few days after the incident. ![]() Lisa was waiting for news about Ryoma outside of the nurse’s station when she saw Daigo and Saori approach. “But first, I think we need to tell the Otakis,” replied Dr. “We need to tell Captain Hayes and Captain Barry right away,” Lang, the pragmatic one, said. Dodge said shakily when he realized what Koji had found. Lang, you need to see this.” His words were urgent.īoth men rushed over to the younger man, whose job was to examine the damage left by the spy’s last act of terror. Koji looks up from the computer terminal he had been pouring over, his face pale. My apologies for that.Īs always, thanks to my beta, Taxivan.
